To the person who Ghosted me:
I understand I answered the question you asked as those judging you did.
The confirmation you were looking for, that age does not define who you are, was not met.
But you need to understand I am not very good with words when confronted with questions that could go wary if one word is mistook as a negative instead of that of a positive which you were seeking.
So here it is. The answer I wanted me to say when you asked, which is not the answer you received.
Once you are over a certain age barrier age becomes obsolete.
Comparing someone to how they act is trying to put a label on something that should not and cannot be subject to one.
I will admit I have been known to use those labels just as everyone else has.
But really, how can you place a label on an age and expect everyone that reaches that age to act the same?
I once knew an 80-year-old was out doing things I saw people 30 years younger doing.
I have also known 50-year-olds unable to do that of what a person 30 years older could do.
That goes for all ages and people that reach that part of life where age just stops mattering and what matters is you are happy, and no one is being hurt.
Be thankful that you can still perform like you did when you were younger.
Age is a state of mind that allows you to do and accomplish what you can or cannot do.
Allowing yourself to enjoy life, or at least do your best to enjoy life is all that matters.
You shouldn’t stop doing things you enjoy because it is “meant” for people younger or older than yourself.
Did you enjoy it? Do you miss it?
Are you now acting your “Age” as those around you expect you to do?
Are they happy with you now? Are you happy with yourself too?
Falling for the labels can cause you to miss the chances given to you to achieve that which you truly wanted, not what those around you wanted for you.
So, there you go. The answer you were probably looking for, which at the time I just couldn’t put into words. The only thing in life that matters once you hit this stage in your life is that you are happy and the person you are with is happy too.
Sincerely,
For what it's worth, your age never bothered me.
